The year we left Rhode Island, I took the girls for one last beautiful September beach day. We met our friends @lisredd at our favorite spot. It was such a special day. We had the beach nearly to ourselves. I called it my goodbye present from my beloved Rhode Island. The most beautiful thing happened that day. A huge migration of butterflies flew (fluttered) through. Hundreds of them dancing over sand...landing on the dune grass, in our hair. It didn't last very long, maybe a half hour, but it was beautiful and spectacular. I stood at the water that day and wept silent tears of goodbye and also of gratitude as I watched the waves and the butterflies. It was beautiful. It was heartbreaking. A memory that still moves me to tears when I think about it. I think of that day and those butterflies every time I am back there again with old treasured friends making new memories.
