Bingo Christmas Brunch!

One of my very favorite things is hosting my best friends for our annual favorite things Christmas brunch.  Getting my house clean, festive, smelling good, and full of brunch, and then getting dressed up, cooking my favorite foods, and opening it up to my favorite people feeds my spirit!  I have been looking forward to this all year!  I love to set a festive table.

The morning of my party, I had Mr. run get a sack of nuts to crack with my Grandma June's nutcrackers which I am lucky enough to have.  I wasn't prepared for the emotions when I set them out  on the table and added a few other little touches that remind me of her and the Fireman Christmas party as a child.  Santa would come and bring stockings full of fruit, nuts, and candy.  A Christmas or two before my Grandma passed, I jotted a hand written note in her card about how much Christmas always meant to me at her house.  Many if not all of my favorite Christmas memories were in her home.  The note on the table was her email response to that note.  I will treasure it always, and I take great comfort in knowing I expressed my love and feelings to her while she was still alive.  I felt her very close all day.

I've been tucking away little gifts for my friends under the foyer tree all month.  I love how my favorite plaid, stripes, leopard, and sparkles all come together in one view.  It's made me happy to walk by it all month and to think about these beautiful friends.

My friends' only request was an abundance of my sugar cookies.  So I obliged.  Along with adding boxes for them to load up to take home.

My house is almost never all clean at once.  It's not my forte.  But on this day I try to get it all tour ready.  And I LOVED the festive touches of red in may kitchen this year.

Sweet Steph always brings a floral arrangement to the hostess.

They arrived around 11, and my sweet friend A walked in declaring "Who WOULDN'T want to be US!?"

These ladies are my heart here.
I prayed them into my life.
God listened and sent me the very best ones.

They are even MORE beautiful inside than their radiant outsides.

I served a Monte Cristo bake as it is one of my favorite sandwiches of all time, but I didn't want to be deep frying in Louboutins and a tutu.

The gift table.  I mean!

We ate and then came in to open the sweetest gifts from each other.

My holiday bedroom

Just one of the most delightful days of my entire year.
After last year, I didn't even know how it could compare.
But it was special and wonderful and MomChristmas to me.
My house and my heart will resonate with the love and friendship for many days/week/years to come!
