NYC #2
Day 2 will also be named one of the greatest days of my entire life. Checking off so many bucket list items, I don't even know if there's anything LEFT!
I am obsessed with the Rockettes. 90% of what little free time I have is spent watching Instagram videos of ballet and the rockettes. I took Boo, my sister, and my mother to see the rockets in Providence one year. (Maybe you remember that year when I fell down a full flight of stairs following the show. Irony at it's finest.) But my dream has been to see them at Radio City. And this is how the morning began. Joy rising!
I walked from my hotel to the venue. In a state of euphoria.
Got there early, so I could walk around and see the whole building.
Go myself my morning diet coke, in the cheesy special cup.
Found my second row seat!
And settled in for 90 minutes of pure delight.
I could see their EYELASHES!
Maybe you don't know that i am the queen of the cheap seats. My family knows i am famous for getting us tickets to a lot of things, but in the cheapest way possible. This means we are often in the last row, handicapped accessible (thanks to Mr.'s broken leg), or with an obstructed view.
To be this close was EVERYTHING!
I've spent hours and hours watching them rehears the soldier dance and the cannon fall. So fun to see it so close.
The live nativity is so incredibly moving.
And the snow falling inside at the finale so festive! And I'm sorry to keep saying it over and over. But it. was. MAGICAL!
Especially because when I would finally exit the theater, I would see the snow had just begun to fall over the city. Making it even more perfect than you would even believe possible!
I visited the ladies lounge before leaving and was so glad I had. Because it was amazing. Art Deco original fixtures.
And a big space for, well, lounging
Most magical of all, was when I stepped outside, the SNOW HAD BEGUN TO FALL!
Tucked in to Magnolia for my Rockette cupcake IN THE SNOW!
Then walked back through Times Square to our hotel to bring Mr a little treat.
We inhaled 5 cupcakes.
Then it was back out in the snow to head to BUY SHOES!
I actually took an UBER to Christian Louboutin on Madison Ave. where my gal had called ahead to have her favorite associate help me.
I had been working to save up the cash to finally splurge on a pair for myself. And in this Cinderella moment, the shoes CHOSE ME!
More fun trying on shoes who's company it is a pleasure to be in.
Joy RISING!
I have lusted over pairs of these red soled beauties for YEARS! Their price tag, and their narrow cut, had taken them out of my realm of possibility for so long. But I've been determined this year was the year to make a pair mine.
A Jose sandwich
And if you could even believe that the calf hair LEOPARD pair IN MY SIZE were on sale!
ON. SALE!
And another trip around the red carpet in my new RED SOLES!
Before taking them to the register.
I die
DIE
And then a walk down Madison avenue in the beautiful magical snow!
I had them ship the shoes so I wouldn't have to lug them through the snow.
Walking through this magical snowy city in my warm (albeit ugly) boots, all alone, with the ability to do (eat, buy) what I want, when I want, where I want, was exhilarating.
Popped into Gucci where I was able to try on the Marmott glitter shoes.
After a little kick through Central park in the glorious, beautiful, MAGICAL December snow, I stopped in to the Tiffany where I had been lucky enough to snag a reservation for BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S in the brand new Tiffany Box Cafe.
This day! You guys! I cannot EVEN!
Truffle eggs! A window overlooking snowy streets below. All by myself.
I got the blue box cake to go
And shared it with my best guy on another work break.
Walked back to the hotel carrying the CAKE, making the full two mile trek in my Uggs, a Parka, and a gigantic Tiffany sack full of cake.
Arrived just in time for Mr to change and tuck back into our favorite ramen shop.
I know, I know, I have a rule no repeats (OR CHAIN RESTAURANTS!), but when there is something FITTODD LOVES I will go over and over and over. We got a window seat, and watched the people, the snow, the magic! All while eating our steaming bowls of ramen and dumplings. Again, PERFECTION!
Dessert back at our hotel late.
He LOVED this cake!
Best. Day. Ever
It was like a Fairy Tale day! One of the best days of my entire life.
