NYC. Day #3

Day #2 was everything on my bucket list PLUS MORE.  So I don't even know how day 3 could compare.  BUT IT DID!
Started out at one of my favorite little brunch places ever, Sarabeth's.  Mr. was even able to come with me before his meetings making it even more perfect.

Lemon ricotta pancakes, and eggs benedict!  Two of my all time faves.  It was so delicious!  And so special.

Such a wonderful morning together in the snow covered city.

We bundled up to walk through Central park and through the beautiful snowy city

Passing the Plaza which is a favorite place to take the girls for Tea with Eloise.

More festive windows on our walk.

We took the subway downtown

Where Mr. quickly dropped me at the Stock Exchange then headed back to his meetings.

I stood in line to get in to see the Louis Vuitton exhibit!
I had secured online (FREE) tickets, but had to wait just a few minutes for it to open for the day.
It was WORTH IT!

I am not normally a big fan of museums.  And I hate to admit it in public.  I feel that makes me sound a bit shallow.  But art can be so subjective, and I get overwhelmed easily, particularly in Europe where museum after museum all starts to blend together.

HOWEVER!!!!

I found this exhibit SO interesting and I LOVED IT

It started with information about the family and how the company was started.  Originally steamer trunks with their very specific needs is how LV began.  The need to be sturdy, yet water tight, and to hold and preserve things on long ocean journeys lead so such craftsmanship and ART.  I found it just riveting!

The first room was all trunks.  And it was magnificent!  Trunks for everything you can imagine.  Shirts, hats, shoes. clothes, gloves...

I could post thousands of the pictures I took.

Then there were rooms dedicated to the modes of travel and how that shaped the need for new traveling accessories.

BOAT:
and this was my favorite room

There was even a special trunk that contained a camp cot.

Then CAR travel:

AIRPLANE

TRAIN

Special collaborations such as painting supplies, designers, and celebrity collaborations.

Manolo Blahnick

And fashion

At the end of the tour, they had flown in the current artisans from Paris and you could watch them at work on current pieces.  It. Was. AMAZING!

At one point one of them (through a translator) asked if I would like to try.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!?

One of the coolest things I have ever done!
ever.

Just an out of this world kind of afternoon!

Walked across the street to the Trinity Church cemetery to see the graves of Alexander and Eliza Hamilton.  Where I left a few coins.

Back on the Subway to ride uptown

Where I just happened to arrive in Times Square 30 minutes before the afternoon matinee and snagged discount tickets to see JASON MRAZ IN WAITRESS!

WHAAAAAAT!?

Yea... I DIE

Slid into my seat with moments to spare.  Grabbed a candy can mini pie from the waitress in the aisles selling it before the show.  Met the most darling gay couple next to me.  And I will always regret not getting their instagram handles!  We had a Theater EXPERIENCE TOGETHER!

So because I am the queen of the cheap seats, I've never sat so close.  You could see and connect with the people on stage.  And at one point, as Jenna was singing her heart out, our eyes connected and we shared this moment.  It was out of this world.

This show.  You guys.  I laughed.  I cried.  I laughed UNTIL I CRIED.  It was just the most amazing experience.  One I will remember for the rest of my life.

Back to the hotel on cloud 9!

Snagged my best guy after a day of work and we walked to Black Tap in midtown to eat at Black Tap

We waited about an hour in line outside, making friends with other patrons.

And let me say the burgers were WORTH IT!  SO GOOD!

The shakes they are so famous for are also delicious.  But we were stuffed.  I can't wait to bring the girls back for cotton candy shakes and see if the shakes standing alone are more impressive.

Just so fun to be standing in line alone with this guy without any other distractions.  And a dinner tucked into the bar alone together.  Memories I will remember forever.

And he really did rally to the call of good food even though he's super healthy these days.

Walked back through rockefeller to see the tree and the windows again.  Just two of the most amazing days I have ever had!
