NYC Getaway #1
One of my favorite traditions from our life on the East Coast was our day trips to New York City with our girls. I would take the girls in several time a year, and we tried to go as a family on a weekday during December. There is nothing like New York in December. It never occurred to me that it was hard negotiating a stroller through the subway, it's just what we did. In fact, when I went back just as adults, I didn't even know there were things to do in the city without kids. Ha ha! Funny me. Mr. goes every year in December for work and I'm normally not organized enough to be able to tag along. But this year I vowed to make it happen. Farmed the kids out to friends, and hit the road early in the morning after getting them off to school.
Snagged an hour in the Delta Skylounge.
He worked. I ate. drank. lounged. Revelled in my general good fortune.
He travels a lot. Flying first class to New York in December is a pretty swell perk!
The first class meal of grilled chicken smelled heavenly. However, they had runout by the time they got to our (first row???) seats, so we were stuck with the cold cuts plate. While I hate to kick a gift horse in the mouth, it was less than impressive. Cold. And somewhat disappointing. This, and shattering my RED iPhone screen to smitherines when they opened up the first class tray table, would thankfully be the ONLY disappointing aspects of this amazing adventure!
Snuggled up in my festive plaid, they just kept the diet cokes coming.
We arrived (DIRECT!) just at sunset.
Took an Uber to our hotel, and arrived just as Hamilton was opening it's doors for the night
We hit up our favorite little Japanese hole in the wall for dinner.
Walked around catching some sites.

SAKS Windows
SAKS was open till 10Pm so we managed a little bit of shoe shopping.
Stopped on our way back for some provisions at a local deli.
